Jad Joseph Wakim, MD

Dr. Wakim is Sweetwater Regional Cancer Center’s founding medical director, and is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology. He sees adult patients with benign blood disorders such as bleeding, clotting, low or high blood counts, and others; and treats patients with diverse cancers including those of the breast, lung, colon, prostate, pancreas, stomach, liver, kidney, head and neck, skin, lymph nodes, blood, and others.

We employ a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating cancer. Our care team participates in the Huntsman Tumor Boards for challenging cases with experts from a range of specialties. We believe in comprehensive treatment and thoughtful transitions of care between SRCC and Huntsman Cancer Institute.

We offer broad access to educational materials for specific diseases. Our licensed clinical social worker provides individual & family counseling and assistance with transportation, meal programs, caregiver resources, healthcare coverage and financial assistance. We also have a registered dietician for nutritional support.
