MRI

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) uses a very large magnet to build highly detailed images. This process is typically used to examine bones, joints, and muscles.

In January 2017, Memorial Hospital installed the Siemens Aera 1.5 MRI system. It is the only "large-bore" MRI in the region, which provides a more comfortable MRI experience and fits a larger variety of patients. It has more bells and whistles than our previous system, such as the quiet suite, which reduces the noise on some MRI exam sequences, and metal artifact reduction. Plus, the majority of scans can be done with your head completely outside of the MRI!
