Occupational Therapy's purpose is to provide the highest quality of treatment to both in and out patients, to increase a person's ability to function at the highest possible level and to enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping promote health and prevent or live better with illness, injury or disability. OT uses everyday activities as the measure to develop the skills that will enable a person to get beyond their disability or injury, with a focus on maintaining or rebuilding independence.

Occupational Therapy services include:    
  • Functional, cognitive and visual perceptual assessment and treatment
  • Upper Extremity Orthopedic rehab: for strains, sprains, fractures of the elbow, wrist, and hand
  • Fit for custom made or prefabricated upper extremity braces, splints and orthotics
  • Neurological Rehab (i.e. Stroke, brain injury, MS, spinal cord injuries)
  • Home modification recommendations
  • Adaptive equipment recommendation and training
  • Ergonomic evaluations
  • Work simplification and energy conservation
  • Activities of daily living and home management skills
  • Customized strengthening and range of motion programs for the upper extremity
  • Modalities to help alleviate pain, improve muscle recruitment, and to aid in healing include:
  • hot packs / cold packs
  • ultrasound
  • ice massage
  • electrical stimulation
  • neuromuscular electrical stimulation
  • paraffin
