MICHAEL BOWERS, DO

Dr. Michael Bowers, a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician, joined us from Turlock, California. His training has allowed him to explore many parts of the country from his undergrad days at Brigham Young University, medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa to residency in Ashland, Kentucky. He is focused on providing personal care and appreciates the opportunity to treat a variety of patients from pediatrics to adults.

DAVID DANSIE, DO

Dr. Dansie comes to Memorial Hospital from Castle Rock Medical Center in Green River. Originally from Utah, Dr. Dansie has been living and working in Sweetwater County for several years. He is a University of Wyoming Family Medicine graduate, having received his training in Cheyenne. He attended Weber State University receiving a bachelor’s in psychology, then went on to graduate school earning masters degrees in Geriatric Health and Health Administration, he then earned his doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine all from A.T. Still University in Missouri.

LAWRENCE LAURIDSEN, DO

Dr. Lauridsen is excited to return to the state after completing his Family Medicine Residency training in Casper, Wyo. He previously graduated with a major in biology and chemistry and military science minors from Utah State University and worked in antiviral research for two years before attending medical school in Kirksville, Mo. Dr. Lauridsen is delighted to return home close to family and friends and looks forward to meeting the family and occupational needs of Sweetwater County.

BRYTTON LONG, DO

Board-Certified, Dr. Brytton Long moved to Rock Springs after completing his Family Medicine Residency at University of Wyoming in Casper. Originally from Idaho, he has grown to love this region over the past few years and is excited to continue practicing in the great state of Wyoming. His special interests include sports medicine, wilderness medicine, and international/travel medicine. As a physician, he not only values the patient individually but culturally.

JACOB JOHNSON, DO

Dr. Jacob Johnson has lived in Wyoming and northern Utah all of his life. He completed his residency training in family medicine. He has worked in Sweetwater County for the last several years and is excited to continue to take care of patients at Sweetwater Memorial. Dr. Johnson and his wife, Rachel, have three boys and one girl – they all are as energetic as Dr. Johnson and his wife! He enjoys outdoor recreation including archery, shooting and four-wheeling. His latest addiction is going out with local kids and playing airsoft. As a family, they enjoy many recreational sports, outdoor activities, and traveling.

MARK SANDERS, PA-C

Mark Sanders has practiced primary care and occupational medicine in Sweetwater County for more than 20 years. After serving as an EMT and working in industry for the 10 years prior. He is originally from Powell, Wyo., and attended Western Wyoming Community College and the University of Wyoming before his medical training in New York City. Mr. Sanders is happy to be part of Sweetwater Memorial and to have the opportunity to use their resources and advancements to help treat patients.

MELISSA JEWELL, PA-C

Melissa Jewell joined our Family Medicine team in 2017, coming from Denver. She completed her undergrad training at the University of Colorado-Boulder with a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and went on to complete her Physician Assistant training at Red Rocks with a Masters in Medical Science from St. Francis University. She enjoys taking time to get to know and listen to her patients and is grateful for the opportunity to treat patients from pediatrics to geriatrics in Sweetwater County.


JOCELYN PALINEK, FNP-BC

Jocelyn Palinek earned her associate degree in nursing from Western Wyoming Community College in 2011 and began working as a registered nurse for Sweetwater Memorial in the same year. Beginning in 2013, she worked in the hospital’s post anesthesia care unit for five years. Palinek completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Wyoming, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014. She earned a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Mich., in 2018. She is nationally board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

TENNY HANSON, FNP-C

Tenny Hanson received an associate degree with an emphasis on pre-radiology from Western Wyoming Community College in 2007. She continued her coursework at Western, completing an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 2010. She has worked as a nurse and restorative nurse manager at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River and for Sweetwater County Public Health as a Women’s and Children’s Health public health nurse. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming in 2014. Hanson completed graduate studies through Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo., earning a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner in 2018. She is nationally board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

The Family Medicine Clinic is at 3000 College Drive near the Fire Station. They will take new patients, and offer same-day appointments (for colds, coughs and runny noses) and some late-hour appointments during the week.
