Star Rating: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) calculate annual star ratings. Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County currently has a three-star rating, after CMS updated its methodology for calculating the star rating, affecting the ratings of healthcare centers nationwide. MHSC held a four-star rating in 2019 and 2020

CMS uses a 5-star quality rating system to measure the quality of care provided by a hospital.

5-star Quality Rating - Dialysis: The Dialysis Clinic of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County has a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

CMS compiles information from in-center hemodialysis centers nationwide, and a rating based on a variety of quality of care measures is then produced on a 1-to-5 scale.

Wyoming Quality Excellence Award: For three years in a row, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County has received a Wyoming Quality Excellence Award.

Mountain-Pacific Quality Health recognized Sweetwater Memorial with a 2019 Hospital Quality Excellence Award for outstanding performance in effectively using quality assurance performance improvement methodologies to improve care practices.

Mountain-Pacific Quality Health is Wyoming’s Quality Improvement Organization, with a goal of promoting excellence in health care through safe, patient-centered, and cost-effective practices. The award recognizes hospitals for their successful accomplishments with patient experience, care coordination, patient and family engagement, and the advancement of these achievements within communities.

Accreditations

The Joint Commission

Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, all of its clinics, its medical laboratory, and a variety of service lines are fully accredited by The Joint Commission. MHSC’s accreditation is evaluated for renewal every three years. MHSC has been held to accreditation standards since 1979, when the hospital first received the gold seal of approval. The Joint Commission has been accrediting hospitals for more than 60 years. Its accreditation is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates a hospital meets high performance standards. Its purpose is to help hospitals improve their performance, raise the level of patient care, and demonstrate accountability in the rapidly changing healthcare marketplace.

American Academy of Sleep Medicine

Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County’s Sleep Lab is the only American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited sleep lab in Sweetwater County.

American College of Radiology

Several services in Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County’s Medical Imaging Department are accredited by the American College of Radiology. It has accredited MHSC’s Computerized Axial Tomography, Ultrasound, and Mammography Departments for imaging excellence; an assurance of quality and radiation safety.
