You Deserve a Good Night’s Rest

A good night’s rest plays a vital role in your overall health and wellbeing. A sleep disorder is a condition that interrupts regular sleeping habits. Insomnia is the most well-known example, but sleep disorders can manifest in a variety of ways.

You can benefit from an appointment with a sleep specialist if you experience the following symptoms:

  • Chronic, loud snoring (sleep apnea)
  • Sleeping during the day and staying awake all night (reversed circadian rhythm)
  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep
  • Feeling fatigued during the daytime (chronic fatigue syndrome)
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Falling asleep at odd times (narcolepsy)
  • Chronic nightmares
  • Temporary inability to move when waking up (sleep paralysis)

When you can’t get a full night’s rest, your body takes the hit. Sleep disorders can lead to high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, and more. That’s why it’s important to address them rather than trying to adjust to the symptoms. Sweetwater Sleep Center provides sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment.

Find Out What’s Causing Your Sleep Difficulties

There must be a root cause of your sleeping disorder. It could be that your daily routine is making it hard to sleep at night, a mental issue is keeping you awake, or that chronic storing is briefly stopping you from breathing during the night.

During a sleep study, you will spend the night at the sleep lab so that our sleep specialists can observe your sleeping patterns. The sleep study room is designed to provide a comfortable, home-like feel so that it’s easy to relax. Painless electrodes will be attached to your body so that the sleep specialists can observe and record your vital signs while sleeping. The results of the study should tell them more about what’s causing your sleep problems so that a treatment plan can be created.

A physician’s referral is required to participate in a sleep study, so tell your primary care physician about your sleeping difficulties. Once that’s taken care of, we can finally address your sleeping troubles once and for all.
