Run with Sandy is April 30

Join us Saturday April 30, 2022!

The Run with Sandy is an event that was developed in honor of Sandy Mitchell. Sandy taught biology at Western for 28 years and lost her battle with breast cancer in May 2017. She was highly revered and loved by Western students and faculty alike. Sandy was an avid runner. This run was created to keep her memory alive, as well as to honor all those who fight the battle of cancer.

The run is open to the public and we hope you will join us in person for the run. T-shirts will be available on a first-come basis for those who make a $20 donation or more while supplies last. If you cannot physically join us, we would love for you to complete the run virtually by sharing some photos of you, your friends, family, doing your own run. https://www.facebook.com/westernwyoming.edu

Registration is by donation and takes place right before the start of the run. All donations of any amount are greatly welcomed and appreciated and all money raised is donated to the Sweetwater Regional Cancer Center/Huntsman Cancer Institute to fund Cancer research. For those who would like to donate but cannot make it to the run, please contact Kristine Clark at kclark@westernwyoming.edu to submit your donation.

Registration begins at 8:30 AM in our Western Commons. Participants can complete a 5k walk (3 laps) around our outdoor track on campus or a 5k run (Gateway/Skyline loop). If you will be walking, please sign up for the 9:00 AM time slot. If you plan to run, please sign up for the 9:30 AM time slot.
