Gavin Stapel of Rock Springs has been working at Sweetwater Memorial for just four months.
He takes a lot of pride in his work and jumps in where needed. In fact, he was instrumental in helping to load and unload the hospital’s Red Desert Roundup Rodeo Parade float, as well as drive it along the parade route.
1. Explain your job at Sweetwater Memorial:
I maintain and make improvements on all hospital grounds properties and I assist in any facility maintenance projects as needed. I also spend time on preventative maintenance and repair on facilities equipment.
2. What do you like most about your job and why?
What I like most about working at MHSC is that everyone works together. It makes the time I spend working here feel like I'm part of a team that cares about one another and wants their fellow peeps to succeed and have a stellar time.
3. What does “Compassionate Care for Every Life We Touch” mean to you?
It means that in working at MHSC, we uphold and remember the importance of putting ourselves in other people's shoes. We work to create an environment that reminds people that we are all in this together.
4. When you’re not at work, how do you like to spend your free time?
When I'm not at work I like to travel. I like to see family and friends, go to local and non-local events. I don’t know, just chill I guess and have fun.
5. Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
I can cook a pretty mean steak, even though I was vegetarian for three years.
