Dr. Holt joins the team at Obstetrics & Women’s Health
ROCK SPRINGS — Combining complex diagnostics with perhaps the happiest of fields in medicine is what Dr. Ken Holt likes most about being an OB/Gyn.
He’s recently joined the team at Obstetrics & Women’s Health of Sweetwater Memorial.
“This specialty in Medicine combines complex diagnostics and evaluation and offers treatment with both medical and surgical options,” he said. “It also, in the area of obstetrics, is perhaps one of the happiest. While things don't always go perfect, it typically is one of great celebration. Being a part of bringing a new life into the world safely never gets old.”
Irene Richardson, CEO of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County said he’s the perfect addition to the obstetrics team.
“Dr. Holt brings years of experience to our obstetrics team. He has done some locum work at our hospital and he is a great fit for our hospital and community” Richardson said. “We’re happy to be able to share his love of Wyoming’s outdoors.”
Holt was introduced to Wyoming at a very young age, while visiting older siblings working on the Heart Six Ranch in the Jackson Hole area.
“I developed a lifelong love affair with the mountains and the great western landscape of the Cowboy state,” he said. “When time allows, I love to be out and about enjoying the great outdoors of our state. Whether it is fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, kayaking or horseback riding, we love doing it all especially when friends and family are involved.
“Sweetwater County, without a doubt, is not only located in close proximity to some amazing natural beauties such as the Flaming Gorge, but has a fantastic medical community which draws patients from hours away in every direction. I wanted to be a part of that kind of medical institution that provides excellent healthcare.”
Being part of that healthcare team, with patients and staff, is what makes the job worthwhile, he said.
“Watching a mom and dad embrace their newborn baby, with a smile on their face and often tears in their eyes, and knowing that you contributed a part of helping that journey end safely is second to none,” Dr. Holt said “At the end of the day, just knowing you have done your best, and have done all you can do to ease someone's mind, lessen their pain and suffering, provided them with a much-needed treatment, and to have them say thanks ... that's the best part.”
Holt is also affiliated with Cody Regional Health-West Park Hospital, Cody; Billings Clinic Hospital, Billings, Montana; and Baxter Health Medical Center, Mountain Home, Arkansas
He completed an obstetrics/gynecology residency University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; attended University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency; and received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City, Missouri.
Holt joins Dr. Samer Kattan, Dr. Wagner Veronese Jr., Dr. Jeffery Wheeler, Dr. Javier Hernandez, Nurse Midwife Starla Leete and Emily James, FNP-C. For an appointment, call 307-352-8383.
